AI Technique Analysis for Your Erg Stroke

Upload a 15-second video of your rowing stroke and get instant AI feedback. The analysis scores each phase of your technique — catch, drive, finish, and recovery — and tells you exactly what to fix and which drills to use.

How it works

1

Film your stroke

Record a 15-second side-view video. Position camera at seat height, 2-3 meters from the erg.

2

Upload the video

Go to the Technique tab and upload. AI extracts frames and analyzes your body positions frame by frame.

3

Get your feedback

Per-phase scores, specific corrections, top priorities, and recommended drills. Know exactly what to fix first.

What the AI analyzes

Catch position

Shin angle, forward body lean, arm extension, hip hinge vs spine rounding, and overall compression.

Drive sequence

Leg-back-arm sequencing, connection (seat-handle sync), back opening timing, and arm pull timing.

Finish position

Layback angle, handle height, elbow position, wrist alignment, and overall extraction quality.

Recovery sequence

Arms-body-legs ordering, slide control, body rock-over timing, and drive-to-recovery ratio.

What you get in the report

Overall score (1-100)

A single number that tracks your technique improvement over time. Compare your scores month to month.

Per-phase scores

Individual scores for catch, drive, finish, and recovery so you know exactly where to focus.

Top 3 priorities

The most impactful changes to make first. Don't try to fix everything at once — fix what matters most.

Corrective drills

Specific drills matched to your errors: feet-out rowing, pause drills, pick drills, and more.

Who it's for

Self-coached rowers who don't have a coach watching their stroke and want objective feedback on their form.

Beginners building their technique foundation who want to catch bad habits before they become ingrained.

Returning rowers coming back after a break who want to check if their form is still solid.

Competitive athletes looking for marginal gains in efficiency and power transfer.

Frequently asked questions

How does the technique analysis work?

You upload a short video of your erg stroke. AI extracts frames and analyzes body positions, angles, and sequencing across each phase — catch, drive, finish, and recovery.

What camera angle should I use?

Film from the side, perpendicular to the erg. Position the camera at seat height, about 2-3 meters away. This gives the clearest view of body angles and stroke phases.

How many analyses do I get per month?

Pro members get 5 technique analyses per month, included in the subscription. The limit resets at the start of each month.

What does the AI score?

You get an overall technique score (1-100) and individual scores for each stroke phase. The AI identifies specific observations, corrections, and your top priorities to fix first.

Is this available on the free plan?

Technique analysis is a Pro feature. You can try it during the 30-day free trial. After that, upgrade to Pro to keep using it.

What video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV (iPhone), and WebM. Maximum 15 seconds, maximum 100 MB. Film in landscape or portrait — both work.

How long does the analysis take?

Usually under a minute. The AI extracts frames from your video, analyzes each one, and generates the full report.
