Weight-Adjusted Score Calculator
Compare erg scores across different body weights using the official Concept2 weight adjustment formula.
How weight adjustment works
Heavier athletes have more muscle mass to produce power, which gives them a natural advantage on the erg. The Concept2 weight adjustment levels the playing field by correcting for this difference.
Adjusted time = Actual time × (Body weight / 270 lbs)0.222
The reference weight is 270 lbs (122 kg). Rowers below this weight get a faster adjusted time (their score improves), while rowers above it get a slower one. The 0.222 exponent was chosen by Concept2 to reflect the approximate relationship between body mass and rowing power.
Weight-adjusted scores are used in Concept2 rankings, CRASH-B Sprints lightweight categories, and many club competitions to allow fair comparison across weight classes.
