How to use random workouts in your training
Variety keeps training interesting and prevents your body from adapting to the same stimulus. This generator gives you workouts across the full training spectrum, from low-rate steady state to full-send race pieces.
For best results, match the difficulty to your training plan. Most of your weekly volume (75-80%) should be easy or moderate. Save hard and race-pace sessions for 1-2 days per week maximum.
Understanding the training zones
UT2 (Utilization 2) is your base aerobic zone. Conversational pace, low rate, long duration. This is where the aerobic engine is built.
UT1 (Utilization 1) is a slightly harder aerobic effort. You can talk in short sentences but not hold a full conversation. Great for building endurance with more intensity.
AT (Anaerobic Threshold) is where lactate starts accumulating faster than you can clear it. Sustainable for 20-40 minutes. Typical 5K to 6K race pace.
TR (Transport) is race pace for longer efforts like the 10K. Hard but sustainable with proper pacing.
AN (Anaerobic) is all-out, 2K race pace territory. Maximum effort, short duration.
