How distance prediction works
Predictions use Paul's Law with a 1.06 exponent: T2 = T1 × (D2/D1)1.06. This accounts for the aerobic dropoff as distance increases.
Accuracy is best when predicting between similar distances (e.g. 5K to 2K) and decreases for very large jumps (e.g. 500m to marathon). All predictions assume well-paced max-effort tests.
Use our zone calculator to find training paces for your predicted 2K.
